Ghram Breakwell, Vidal Sassoon, and Tim Wilson

Orlando Florida- June 10, 2007 -

Vidal Sassoon gave a 20 minute talk at the "American Stylists Awards" to raise awarness, and donations for Habitat for Humanity.This marks the anniversery of Hurricane Katrinas devastation to the city of New Orleans which left 250,000 people homeless. Hairdressers from all over North America, and London joined together in support of this effort which by the end of Vidals wonderful talk raised nearly one million dollars.

Vidal Sassoon helped raise awareness in 2006 with Habitat for Humanity when he personally donated more than $100,000 to build two homes in partnership with low-income families affected by the hurricanes. As of Nov.1, Habitat has nearly 500 houses complete or under construction along the Gulf Coast

The charities and educational institutions to which Vidal Sassoon has given his time and energy to help raise funding or achieve their goals stretch from one side of the globe to the other and include everything from mounting a ballet for the Dance Theatre of Harlem to the establishment of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism and Related Bigotries at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. On June 13, 1994, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem conferred on him the degree of "Doctor Philosophiae Honoris Causa".
About Vidal Sassoon

Vidal Sassoon, founder of the internationally acclaimed company which bears his name, revolutionized the hair industry with the creation of his haircuts based on the relationship of geometric shapes. His classic Sassoon cut in the 60's with its meticulous shape and exacting lines revolutionized cutting.

Before moving to Seattle, Ghram Breakwell was an employee for Vidal in London. He is currently the artistic director for 7 Salon in Seattle.Tim Wilson, 2007 Winner of Best color, and Highlights in Seattle credits Vidal for his education, and inspiration.

About Salon Blast We have been in business for nearly 10 years.We belive in our community, and outside of the Salon we help Saint James Church with their winter shelter which provides safe shelter, and a warm meal to homeless men over 50. We spent over 6 years doing make overs for breast cancer patients at the University of Washington, and 3 years of volunteer work cutting hair for HIV patience living at Bailey Boushee on Capital Hill. We are currently the proud winners of the 2007 " Best Color, and Highlights", and "Best Salon."
